FINAL EXAM

1. What did she write?
She wrote something related to the fact that he was blind but made it sound ore profound. 

2. How did this video make you feel inside?
It made me feel interesting. I wasn't sure if I was sad or happy at the end of it. Because in the end the man got the money he needed, but it took changing what he wrote and I don't think that it should have mattered whether the sign said that he was blind or that he couldn't see the beautiful day.

3. Why would I show this video to you?
To show us how powerful writing something differently can be. We can use this in the newspaper to entice the reader to learn more.

4. How can you "Change your words" to impact the readers of your school newspaper?
You can use larger words and use more profound sentences when applicable.

5. How many different ways did the Guardian cover the story of the three little pigs?
FOUR

6. Is the story the same as you remember it as a child?
No, the pigs were the victims in the kid story

7. Who did they interview?
No one.
8. What aspects of the story did they cover?
They covered how the three pigs houses were blown down by a wolf and that they ended up boiling the wolf.

9. Were there any aspects of the three little pigs story that were not covered?
The ending was obviously different, in the end the wolf was the victim and the pigs were members of fraud.

10. Did the Guardian ever offer their opinion of what happened, who was guilty, who was not guilty?
They said that the pigs were guilty because they killed the wolf when they were going to frame him for fraud that they had committed. It went from the wolf being guilty to the pigs and then the banks for bad mortgage payments.

11. Can we do this for events on our campus on a daily basis?
Yes, even though the stories may not be as interesting.

12. How can you help make this a reality?
I think that by working harder on uncovering rumors and the truths behind them would really help making this into a reality.

13. What is the most important thing you have learned this semester being on newspaper staff?
I learned that time management is really extremely key. It's important to make sure that a person gets something done ASAP. I also realized that working as a team is something that everyone has to be able to do in order to be successful in creating a business. Learning how to deal with people you can't get along with is definitely something I've learned this semester.
14. What can you do next semester to continue your scholastic journalism career in a fulfilling and positive way? For those of you leaving the program at the semester break, what specific problems did you have in being an active member of staff (please be specific, my sincere hope is that students don't drop this program and I want to come up with some solutions for why some people have decided to leave)?
I'm going to just try and do my best. I know I'm not the best editor or writer and that's fine. But I do always try at everything that I do and I'm going to continue working hard and keeping up that image. I want to also figure out better ways to draw on Illustrator because our drawing are so crappy and look like five year old's drawings. I think that as an editor I also want to help other people more with their stories.


15. What suggestions do you have to improve any part of this class? For example, you could address editor/staff relations, editor/editor relations, staff relations with the advisor, how we can better serve our community, direct suggestions on the newspaper itself, equipment or supplies we might need, computer program instructions you need, or even stories we should cover. I am open to anything. Part of my job is to make this a positive experience, yet it is also an educational opportunity for all of you and the other part of my job is to teach you new skills. Again, for those of you leaving the program, I am looking for realistic ideas on how to improve the experience so that we do not continue to lose people.
I think that we need some drawing pads or at least one pad so that we can learn to draw better drawings. I think that also this class works awfully as a team. So somehow we need to learn to work better as a team. I think that we can do it in the end but some relationships seem either strained or non existent. People need to also quit being scared of asking for help.
